Chief Anderson began his career with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office in 1986 working in the Pinellas County Jail as a Corrections Officer. In 1989 he moved to the Lancaster Correctional Facility until joining the Levy County Sheriff's Office in 1995. He served in numerous positions during his time at the Levy County Sheriff’s Office. He was a K-9 officer, patrol Corporal later being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and being put in charge of special operations. He was then promoted to Captain and was in charge of the special operations division at the sheriff’s office which included Levy County Sheriff’s 9-1-1 Dispatch Center, Marine units, K-9 Units, the SWAT Team, Levy County Drug Task Force and the Motor Pool. He retired from the Levy County Sheriff's Office in 2013 and then became a full time Officer with the Chiefland Police Department in 2015 where he worked in the Patrol Division.
